Education in Exchange
A partnership has been struck between Marcellin College, Bulleen and the Sardinian Cultural Association (SCA). The purpose of the partnership is to enable an exchange of students between Melbourne Australia and Sardegna, an Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea.

Every two years between the months of August and September students from the "Convitto Nazionale Di Cagliari" and December and January students from Marcellin College, will come to Melbourne or go to Cagliari, to bring experiences of their own culture and improve, refine the knowledge of the language of the host country. The period of exchange will last between five and six weeks.
“I am very pleased to announce a new partnership which we have formed at Marcellin with the Sardinian Cultural Association. We are very grateful to the Sardinian Cultural Association for their generosity and foresight in supporting a student from Marcellin to engage in a cultural and language immersion program to Sardinia in 2019. I look forward to this partnership developing and bringing mutual benefit to us all.” - Principal of Marcellin College Mark Murphy
Exchange Programs and Educational Tours are clearly devised to promote socialisation with other people. Students are encouraged to talk to locals and native speakers as well as get to know their touring party to learn from each other, because it is with this understanding that students gain knowledge.
An understanding of the culture is required to truly walk in others’ shoes. Different cultures have a different understanding and perspective of different acts. This is in tune with the Marcellin model of a mixed school community.
Marcellin College celebrates diversity and is always looking for new ways to further the education of the young men in their care, ensuring that enriching experiences are made available to as many young men as possible.
