New Melbourne Food Guide Inspires Social Change
/Jennifer Curcio - Past Member of the SCA's Committee and Founding Member & Spokesperson of our "Next Generation - Giovani" initiative, has launched her food guide, "Melbourne for Conscious Foodies". It is a new food guide that showcases eateries committed to conscious practices.
The self-published guide is the first of its kind, featuring reviews on eateries that support LOCAL producers, have a commitment to the ENVIRONMENT, SUSTAINABILITY, and SOCIAL GOOD. The guide also includes tips, and places to volunteer in Melbourne’s food community. A thoughtful gift for Melbourne locals, travellers and the conscious minded, Melbourne for Conscious Foodies features reviews on coffee, breakfast, lunch, sweets and dinner spots all around Melbourne, including: Auction Rooms, St Ali, Longstreet Coffee, Streat, Fitzrovia and Tamil Feasts. The food reviews focus not only on good food but the conscious initiatives of each eatery, like Rudimentary in Footscray. “They collect all the rainwater from the building. Due to the tanks’ 20,000 litre capacity, they only need main water for an estimated 50 days a year.”
Committed to ‘giving back’, 25% of the profits from each Melbourne for Conscious Foodies guide sold will be donated to a local Melbourne initiative. The guide has been printed locally in Melbourne with vegetable-based inks and on paper using sustainable pulp resources.
“Melbourne for Conscious Foodies,” is now available for purchase in paperback,eGuide and at selected locations. Note: All paperback orders purchased online through the Decisive Cravings website will come with complimentary gift wrapping for just $9.95 + postage, and 25% of theprofits sold will be donated back to a local Melbourne initiative.
The SCA encourages you to support Jennifer's latest initiative and thanks her for still being an integral proactive part of the SCA's Network despite living overseas.
